Colorful Pacman Pillows: Geeky or Geek Chic?

As old school as Pacman is, the classic gaming ghosts seem to never go out of style! I can't decide whether or not I like these Pacman pillows as much as the geek-chic Pacman video game scarf (minus the hat, of course). Each pillow below is handcrafted with special stitching to look liked the classic pixelated characters in the game. Maybe a neat idea for a gaming room or living room, but too over-the-top for a bedroom (unless you like eyes staring at you while you sleep)! This entire set is available on Etsy for $90. I can't help but love the Sundance Camera Tee ($45). It looks cozy and its design is classic geek chic. Sure it would be a little overkill if you paired it with camera earrings and a camera ring, but alone it's cute and artsy. Do you agree?

It's officially the age of the photography nerd. With digital cameras getting less expensive and the popularity of online photo communities like Flickr and Radar, it seems everyone I know has become a camera fanatic. Whether you spend all your time searching photography tips online, or you just admire a good old-fashioned 35mm, you have to admit these camera earrings from Etsy, $4, are pretty geek chic! It looks like they are actually hand painted.

Caffeine Molecule Necklace: Totally Geeky or Geek Chic?

There's a stereotype that geeks survive on caffeinated candy, soda and even soap, so it's no shocker that Thinkgeek is selling a Caffeine Molecule Necklace, $85. The piece was designed by a Ph.D. post-grad in molecular biophysics and is 1.5 inches wide. I find it harsh, cold and far too scientific. Would you wear it?

If you're a serious geek you understand just how serious vintage video game fans are about their game inspired apparel and jewelry. While I saw a ton of Space Invader items this fall, I think PacMan may be making a comeback.

The Tiny Armour Ms. Pac-Man Ring, $68, lets you celebrate your love for Pac-man fever and looks even more amazing paired with the ghost ring. It may be a bit more youthful than the Fancy geek rings we featured a few weeks back, but I do think it's geek chic. What do you think?

Binary Code Pillow: Totally Geeky or Geek Chic?

Okay, so maybe I have a thing for binary code housewares and jewelry. I first fell for the binary code doormat, then I fell for the silver and chic Fancy geek ring with a binary message.

While the binary code pillow, may be more dorm room chic than either of those items, I love it too. The pillow is 18" and comes in black with a matrix of green text on it. What's the codes message? Why, "Pillow" of course!

By nature geek jewelry is, well, pretty geeky. It's something we've all come to understand and even love — especially when we find geek chic frosting like the Fancy Binary ring or the imaginary, but innovative iGems. While I have chosen to decorate my house with more of an understated and modern theme I have a bizarre fascination with intricate furniture with a touch of geek.
